Whole School Activities and Events

At Etherley Lane we take part in a wide range of activities and events linked to our curriculum and the wider community.  We promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all pupils through these experiences which also support us to embed British values within our school community and beyond.

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 1- Bat and ball/frying pan and socks keep-ups⭐️

How many times can you hit your ball/socks in one minute?🤔

⭐VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 2 Egg/potato and spoon race⭐️

You can do this race across the width of your garden, yard or living room!

How many seconds does it take for you complete the race without dropping your egg/potato? 🤔

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 3- Book on head race⭐️

You can do this race across the width of your garden, yard or living room!

How many seconds does it take for you complete the race without the book falling off your head?🤔

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 4- How many times can you stand up and sit down in 1 minute? ⭐️

Can you beat Mrs. Summerson’s score?🤔

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 5- Slalom Blow Football⭐️

For this activity, you will need a table, some small objects, e.g. ketchup bottle, salt shaker and a straw. You will also need a small ball or make a ball from paper if you do not have one. If you don’t have a straw, you can make one by rolling a small piece of paper.

How many times can you blow the ball between the gates (objects on the table) in one minute? 🤔

You will get one point for each time the ball rolls between two objects!

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 6- How many bottle flips can you do in 1 minute? ⭐️

Remember- the bottle has to land standing up. Can you beat Mrs. Walker and her sons’ scores?🤔

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 7- How many seconds can you balance on one leg for while blindfolded? ⭐️

Can you beat Mrs. Burkill and Mrs. Graham’s times? Are you brave enough to try the extreme version?🤔

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 8- Pole catching⭐️

How many times out of ten can you catch the pole? 🤔

For this activity you will need a pole or stick and someone to drop it for you.

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 9- Rubbish bin basketball⭐️

How many balls can you throw into the bin in one minute from 2 metres? 🤔

For this activity you will need a bin/bucket/container and balls. You can make them from crumpled pieces of paper.

⭐️VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY ACTIVITY 10- Cup on tray race⭐️

You can do this race across the width of your garden, yard or living room!

How many seconds does it take for you complete the race without spilling the water?🤔

Make sure you don’t put any hot liquid in the cup and use a plastic one if you can!👍🏻

How many times can you throw a teabag into a cup in one minute from 2 metres away? 🤔
